Bin Picking of M6 Nuts using Intel RealSense D405 camera
An Intel RealSense D405 3D camera attached directly to the arm allows to take good resolution pictures from up close. These images are used to detect and locate the screws so that they can be gripped individually. The localization uses an AI based object detection in 2D images and exactly localizes the objects in 3D space using depth image data. After the objects are found the system plans a collision free grasp and robot motion trajectory on the fly to pick up and move the nuts. More details about this example application and DRS can be found on our homepage https://www.dino-robotics.com
