Resurrection Sunday

On Resurrection Sunday, Pastor Garmon reminded the church that Jesus was not held on the cross by nails, soldiers, or circumstance, but by His love for us. Because Jesus died and rose again, believers are no longer bound by guilt, shame, sin, or their past. His resurrection is not just a moment to celebrate—it is power made available to us right now. Using Romans 6, Pastor Garmon taught that through Christ’s death and resurrection, the power of sin has been broken and we are called to live a resurrected life. That means we are no longer slaves to what once controlled us, and we do not have to stay buried in dead places emotionally, spiritually, mentally, or relationally. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us, giving us power to rise, heal, overcome, and walk in victory. He emphasized that resurrection power shows up in real life. It gives us the ability to carry scars without still bleeding, to stop living for people’s approval, to walk through doors only God can open, and to refuse to die again to things Christ has already delivered us from. Pastor Garmon closed with a call to let go of guilt, stop revisiting what God has already covered, and fully step into the freedom, healing, and newness of a resurrected life.
