I'm mixing a song by the Puerto Rican band Los Olmos, and I'll show you how I organize the routing, subgroups, analog summing outputs, and the processing chain I use on the Stereo Bus. Here you'll see how I combine plugins, outboard gear, patchbay, analog summing, EQ, compression, clipping, and reference limiting to achieve a mix with more cohesion, control, and a console feel. I also explain why I don't rely entirely on the Stereo Bus for the mix to sound good, but rather prefer to build the mix from the bottom up, making decisions at each element before reaching the master bus.
