We looked a bit out of place, wearing T-shirts in 12-degree weather, while the locals were heading to work in jackets. It was time to add some natural beauty to the cityscape, and we chose a picturesque reservoir an hour's drive from Plovdiv. After passing several villages, we arrived at our destination. The views of the reservoir were truly beautiful, combined with the local mountains, but after driving several kilometers, we still couldn't find a place to relax and enjoy the views. We finally reached a cluster of hotels on the shore, where we found parking and an eco-trail. After climbing a few dozen meters up the trail, we realized this wasn't an eco-trail, but something far more challenging. After driving back and forth trying to find some nice views, I told him what I thought, and we decided to return to Plovdiv. Around lunchtime, we found one of the best sushi restaurants in town. It was surrounded by old buildings, reminiscent of a residential area. After grabbing some food, we headed toward the rowing base and strolled along the rowing canal. I explained its purpose in more detail in the video. After we'd had our fill of exploring, we checked into a hotel, which, by the way, was called the Hilton, as suggested by the ambiance and service. We spent the evening at the spa. On our last day in Plovdiv, we again walked around the old town. I'll tell you, it's more enjoyable on a weekday because there are fewer passersby. We then delved deeper into the city's districts and, finding a park, tried our hand at being Mowgli. We then stumbled upon a go-kart track and couldn't resist the pleasure. We had to drive a very basic kart with a crowd of schoolchildren, but that didn't stop us from finishing well in the overall standings. We'll improve our time next time. After passing through residential areas and boulevards, we returned to the car and headed towards Burgas. Overall, after two days and 27 kilometers, we reached our conclusions about this city; it's definitely worth visiting again.
