Manipur: Indian Footballer Chinglensana Singh is one of Thousands Now Without Home

In April 2023, Chinglensana Singh, a Meitei from Lamka, was at the top of the world with a long stint imminent in India's national football team. He was looking forward to the start of a new season, a lucrative new contract with Hyderabad FC, and the prospect of playing a key role for the country at the AFC Asian Cup in January next year. However, in a little over a month, he, and his family have ended up as the collateral damage of the political manoeuvres that resulted in the widespread Meitei-Kuki violence. On May 5, the 'war' came to his family home in the Khumujamba Meitei Leikai in Churachandpur.
