Welcome to Day 184! Today, we're reading one of the richest and most illustrious chapters of the New Testament: Matthew 13. In this masterful text, Jesus changes his teaching method and reveals the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven through a series of essential parables: the sower, the weeds and the wheat, the mustard seed, the leaven, the hidden treasure, and the pearl of great price. Our program also includes the circumcision at Gilgal and the heavenly encounter in Joshua 5, the final Songs of Ascents with Psalms 132–134, and the magnificent promise of the new heavens in Isaiah 65. 📖 DAILY READING PROGRAM 184: Joshua 5: A crucial spiritual step before the battles: the entire people are circumcised at Gilgal to roll away the reproach of Egypt, and they celebrate the first Passover in the Promised Land as the manna finally ceases. The chapter concludes with the mysterious appearance of the Commander of the Lord's army before Joshua, commanding him to remove his sandals. A fundamental lesson on the value of consecration, holiness, and submission to God before facing the challenges of life. Psalms 132–134: We conclude the magnificent series of Songs of Ascents. Psalm 132 recalls David's oath to find a dwelling place for the Lord and the messianic promises linked to his lineage. Psalm 133 celebrates the beauty of brotherly fellowship: "How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!" Psalm 134 is a final exhortation to bless the Lord during the nights. Isaiah 65: God reveals himself to those who did not seek him and announces a sorting of justice. The prophet then moves on to a dazzling eschatological promise where the Lord declares: "For I am about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered." A vision of universal peace where the wolf and the lamb will graze together. Matthew 13: Seated in a boat, Jesus teaches the crowd. Through the parable of the sower, he explains how different hearts receive the Word. He then reveals the mystery of the coexistence of good and evil with the weeds, shows the growth of the Church, and depicts the absolute value of salvation through the man who sells everything to acquire the pearl of great price.
