We invite you to continue our discussion on the basics of speech therapy from a practical perspective for teachers. We will discuss the auditory and motor determinants of a child's speech development and the state of their speech. What is the importance of phonemic and phonetic hearing for spoken and written language? How can you prepare simple orthophonic exercises that teach correct articulation? What speech defects affect a child's reading and writing skills? What can a teacher do to help a child with speech disorders (e.g., speech impediments or stuttering)? The meeting will be led by Dr. Anna Walencik-Topiłko, a doctor of humanities and a university research and teaching staff member. She has been involved in speech therapy both theoretically and practically for over twenty years. She conducts speech therapy practice in the diagnosis and treatment of various language communication disorders. She is a trainer in workshops and training sessions for teachers and therapists in speech therapy and logorhythmics, as well as for various professional groups in the areas of public speaking, language communication, and voice production.
