The ecologiQ Innovation Showcase series gives industry and their research partners the chance to pitch ideas and products to a panel of senior Victorian Government and senior industry leaders and experts. To move to a circular economy we must find new uses and solutions to reuse, repurpose and repair - diverting waste from landfill and using Victoria’s Big Build as a catalyst for new markets. Presenters for this event are: SAMIBitumen introduces SAMIGreen, a range of biogenic modified binders designed to significantly reduce carbon footprint while maintaining the same performance, durability and technical properties as conventional bitumen and PMBs. SAMIGreen can be produced in various grades of unmodified and modified binders for asphalt and sprayed seal applications. It is supported by an official, registered and independently audited Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). Available in two off-the-shelf options, Deep Green (over 60% carbon emission reduction) and Light Green (over 30% reduction), SAMIGreen can also be tailored to achieve customer-specific carbon reduction targets. Importantly, it is as safe as conventional bitumen, supplied with a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and without hazard labels. Second Life Solar is a circular economy initiative focused on extending the useful life of solar panels that would otherwise be discarded. While many panels are decommissioned due to system upgrades, minor damage, or warranty replacements, a significant proportion still retain strong generation capacity. Second Life Solar captures this value by testing, refurbishing, and redeploying viable panels into community-scale, municipal, and community energy projects. Armstrong Flooring: at Armstrong Flooring, circular manufacturing is not a future ambition, it is happening now in Victoria. As Australia’s only manufacturer of commercial sheet vinyl flooring, based in Braeside, we are redefining how resilient flooring is made by embedding circular economy principles directly into local production. For the first time, we are introducing Innova, a next-generation sheet vinyl flooring product manufactured using 99% reclaimed Armstrong Flooring waste of which 50% will be post-consumer. By capturing our own internal production waste and post-installation offcuts, we are closing the loop and remanufacturing material back into high-performance commercial flooring, designed for continuous recyclability.
