NARROWBOAT SEFTON'S SURVEY! WORSE THAN WE THOUGHT! HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? & DEEPER LOOK INSIDE!

So we're back at Narrowboat Sefton, the famous boat at the heart of the Llangollen canal breach! After it was pulled out of the breach, by commercial boat services, it was taken to their yard near Chester, it has been sat here since January 23rd. Well now its up for sale! But the inside is ruined! But how's the hull? The hull is the most important aspect to look at when buying a narrowboat especially one that has gone through so much and went bow first into a canal breach! So we bought in Tony Nother from Aft and Bow surveys, who surveyed three boats for us last year, and did a fantastic job. So he was our first choice for a surveyor! He'll go through every little aspect of the hull from well Aft to Bow! We noticed the pittings on the side but just how bad are they does it need over plating? Or just puddle welding, But the surveyor picked up something BIG with the prop shaft that we didn't notice! Its bent! This will cost thousands to put right! So is the asking price of £15k too much? Can we negotiate a price? Me and mum also take a more indepth look inside and to see just how bad the flood damage is! It may have been worse than we thought! But can anything be saved from the inside? And i took up the floor board to have a look and see if there was much water under the floor. We also take a closer look at the engine, did it take in any water, well looking down the exhaust it doesn't look good! Hello and welcome to Taylors Aboard.
