Wolf Creek Grist Mill near Mohican State Park, Loudonville Ohio

Built in 1831, Wolf Creek Grist Mill is located near Mohican State Park, Loudonville, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity by Mark Smith, Founder and President of Wolf Creek Mill, to teach us how a bull gear moves a waterwheel's enertia through a bull gear and up into the mill to power the two 42" French Burr stones. The video also shows many aspects of milling in the 1800's such as flour bolters and dressers, flour roller mills, grinding mill stones and numerous types of milling equipment. You will also visit the exterior of Wolf Creek Grist Mill. There is a large wooden flume and wooden waterwheel. Wolf Creek Mill has a beautiful enviorment and we were fortunate to visit during the fall with the hills full of color. Wolf Creek Mill was constructed in 1831 and its interior reflects the hand-hewn timbers and it historic structure.
