Exploring..... Helsby Quarry and disused tramway
A look around the former Helsby Quarry, and tracing the route of it's former horse drawn tramway looking for relics. The quarry opened around 1830 and closed in the 1920s. The red sandstone from the quarry was used on many local major building projects such as the Albert Dock in Liverpool, and restoration of Chester Cathedral. After being used for landfill, the quarry was reclaimed in 1998 and is now a nature reserve. If you enjoy the video please give it a like and subscribe to the channel.
