Grow up and let go!

This week in our Grow Up series, we tackled one of the most challenging—and necessary—topics in the Christian walk: forgiveness. In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus gives us a direct and weighty truth: “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Forgiveness is not weakness. Forgiveness is maturity. Forgiveness is spiritual warfare. In this message, we unpack: 🔥 Why forgiveness is not optional for Kingdom people 🔥 How unforgiveness keeps us spiritually and emotionally imprisoned 🔥 The real benefits of releasing bitterness 🔥 How to forgive while still maintaining healthy boundaries Forgiveness is not pretending it didn’t happen. It’s not approving abuse. It’s not restoring trust without wisdom. Forgiveness means releasing revenge, surrendering pain to God, and refusing to let offense shape your identity. We looked at: 📖 Matthew 6:14-15 📖 Matthew 18:21-35 📖 Ephesians 4:31-32 📖 Hebrews 12:15 📖 Romans 12:18 📖 John 2:23-25 One of the most powerful reminders from this message: Jesus forgave while bleeding. Not after the pain ended. Not after vindication. But while wounded. If you’ve been carrying anger, betrayal, church hurt, disappointment, rejection, or bitterness—this message is for you. Because freedom begins when you let go of what God never intended you to carry. 💬 Ask yourself: Who am I still angry at? What wound am I still rehearsing? Have I confused unforgiveness with strength? Is bitterness making me spiritually immature? The cross proves forgiveness is costly—but freedom is worth it.
