DISCOVER HIDDEN HISTORY in Markleeville, California! There’s plenty of great but largely HIDDEN history here in this tiny Sierra town -- and this video takes you there, starting with sites atop Schoolhouse Hill! The town of Markleeville was born in 1861, during the silver mining excitement of the nearby Comstock Lode. Think dusty silver miners and bustling supply trains, dancing hurdy girls and elbow-to-elbow saloons. Today you can still discover plenty of HIDDEN history in this fun historic town -- from the original log jail to its 1883 schoolhouse (there’s even a bullet hole in the school wall!) But to find them, you need a good guide.
