This is perhaps the most special episode of our journey through Italy: we visited a small Italian town in the province of Salerno, which holds a very important part of our family history. It was here that Nicolli's grandfather was born and raised before emigrating to Brazil as a young man, along with three other siblings. Fearing another war in Europe, his parents decided to send half of their children across the ocean. Decades later, we made the reverse journey. We were welcomed by relatives who still live in San Giovanni a Piro today. Maria, whom you will all meet in this video, took us for a walk through cobblestone streets, visited churches and the old houses where her grandfather lived, as well as the cemetery where several generations of the family are buried.
