Who Belongs? A Snapshot of Migration, Sovereignty, Conflict, and Xenophobia in Africa #xenophobia

Our initial thought was on xenophobia in Africa with the current ongoings in South Africa. Upon our research, the conversation shifted to a broader look into migration, conflict, and sovereignty in Africa, hence the snapshot of all the events in our chosen countries. We aim at showing how deep in the idea of xenophobia are issues lying under the surface. We do not encourage any party or support any party, but we aim at telling the stories herein in a more balanced way. We recognize the heavy gravity of recent events, and we do not undermine the deep pain or the tragic lives lost. The instances featured here are just a fraction of the stories across the continent, both mentioned and unmentioned. Our goal is to look past the surface, face deeper truths, and engage some of the unspoken realities on the ground with you, rather than ignore it.
