Why South Africa Is Angry | DOCUMENTARY

This is a documentary that gives context and nuance into the current turmoil of the state of South Africa at the current moment. at the face of a government that has failed its people, after 30 years of democracy, many black South Africans feel betrayed by their leaders. With the hopes and promises that came with the freedom that came with the end of apartheid, many black South Africans believed that things would change for the better after the struggle, but as the years progressed, corruption skyrocketed, the looting of public funds by politicians skyrocketed, all the while the average South African gets buried in poverty and hunger. To make matters worse, the systemic structures that were placed in place in order to either oppress or exclude the average South African, especially black people economically, are not fully dismantled, so the average South African still deals with this, while also having to deal with the issue of illegal immigrants who either cheap labour, and many other concerning acts that could be deemed as a threat. And with all this happening at once and many South Africans reaching a boiling point and taken upon themselves to deal and address these matters, the people looking from a distance or outside looking in, have made very wrong conclusions about both South Africa and its citizens.
