I honestly didn’t believe I could be switch over from Gränsfors Bruk axes but I believe I found the sweet spot: the Pöul Tools axe is in-between in size and weight of the Forest and Wildlife hatchet by Gränsfors Bruk so that makes it more applicable for more applications, not too big and not too small. Also, the swell on the handle fits my hand perfectly. I always found the handle on the GB to be a little small for my hands and I believe they do that so it can be more universal but that just adds to fatigue. The craftsmanship on this axe is top-notch! It was the first thing I noticed when taking it out of the box. The finishing work alone is just so precise and finally detailed, although this is a handmade axe. It’s made of 1055 Swedish steel which is a standard for Swedish axes. It’s a great steel that is easy to sharpen and thus keeping your cuts clean. Presently, my favourite axe but I don’t think there’s another that will top it. Let me know if you have any questions. On this trip the first thing I encountered was a family of Bear. I had just came up the hill and there they were, about 5 of them. The mother looked up the tree as to escape up it, however, you could see her thoughts "if I goup this tree I might lose my cubs. Better yet, run..... Run my little ones, run!!!" It's always special to run in them. They are bonus points and passage to the wild within. The plant I foraged was Garlic mustard, it was a staple for Europeans who brought it over here to the States. It's incredibly nutritious and grow everywhere. Now that it's fallen out of favour and lose to history it's now treated as a weed. I didn't film me eating it but it can be thrown in a salad or sàuteed, and that's what I did.
