I Made Mankind's Oldest Weapons

MyHeritage $19 time limited discount link - https://bit.ly/BenKilner Discount Code - Kilner In this episode I remake and test the Stone Age weapons that span over 2.6 million years of human history - the tools that transformed a small and vulnerable group of our ancient ancestors into the most effective hunters this planet has ever seen. From the earliest unmodified stones and sticks, through hand axes, wooden spears, composite hafted points, harpoons, bow and arrow, atlatl, slings, bolas, knives, axes, and blowguns — I remake every weapon, explore the technology and materials behind each one, and put them to the test using ballistic gelatin. I was lucky enough to spend time with Will Lord, one of the leading flintknappers and flint knapping teachers in the UK. If you would like to learn flint knapping from a master, here is a link to Will's YouTube channel    / @willlordprehistoricsurvival   This episode is part of my ongoing Stone Age workshop series. So far I have made fire using fungus and flint, tanned raw deer hides, made a set of lightweight clothes, made a stone axe, and rebuilt the oldest known house in Britain from over 10,000 years ago.
