Nominated for Germany's Most Beautiful Hiking Trail 2025. The river hiking trail from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Regen.🥇 We hiked the first section, from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Zwiesel. The starting point was Eisenstein train station. The distance we walked was about 16 km. At the end, we deviated slightly from the marked trail to continue along the banks of the Grosser Regen. The original route would have been about 1-2 km longer. Most of the hike follows the river on small paths and secluded forest roads. Only the last few kilometers through the town of Zwiesel run along paved roads. The second part of the trail would lead from Zwiesel to Regen. For the return journey, we used the forest railway.🚂 Whether this hiking trail will become Germany's Most Beautiful Hiking Trail 2025 remains to be seen. It certainly has the potential to be.
