Arrested Accused Manchala Santosh Kumar (36) – Receptionist, resident of Jeedimetla, Medchal-Malkajgiri. Suraya Vamshi Santosh Kumar alias Santhu (33) – Printing press machine operator, resident of Tulasi Ram Nagar, Amberpet. Chakali Srikanth alias Chinna Bomma (24) – Decoration worker, resident of Tulasi Ram Nagar, Amberpet. Etikala Raghuveer (30) – Private employee at HRC Registrar Office, resident of Tulasi Ram Nagar, Amberpet. Bajandri Deva (34) – Businessman, resident of KCR Nagar, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad. Deepak – Absconding. Case Details On 14 June 2026, a complaint was lodged by K. Hari Babu, a resident of Kukatpally. He stated that he is involved in real estate and gold trading and frequently posts related details on WhatsApp and Instagram. On 10 June 2026, he received a WhatsApp message from an unknown person expressing interest in purchasing gold. During their conversation, the person asked him to come near D-Mart, Golnaka, Amberpet. On 11 June 2026, when the complainant reached the location, two men approached him claiming to be Task Force Police officers. They accused him of being involved in a gold scam, took him to a lane opposite D-Mart near the Musi River, assaulted him, and forcibly transferred ₹21,000 from his PhonePe account to a Google Pay account belonging to E. Raghuveer. Soon, three more individuals joined them and also introduced themselves as Task Force Police personnel. They made the complainant call the person who had initially contacted him. When that person arrived, he too claimed to be a Task Force officer. The group allegedly assaulted the complainant, threatened to kill him, confiscated his ICICI Bank credit card, and took him on a motorcycle to an Indian Oil petrol bunk near Ali Café, beside Krishna Reddy Function Hall. There, they swiped his credit card for ₹20,640 and withdrew cash from him. Following an investigation, Amberpet Police identified and arrested five members of the gang and recovered the stolen property.
