Some people walk into a dilapidated old farmhouse and see a problem. Sherry Wheatley and her late husband Jack saw a future. Forty years later, their 1840s Greek Revival farmhouse in upstate New York is a testament to what vision, patience and a love of the old and imperfect can achieve. Sherry never buys new. She haunts tag sales, auctions and local antique shops, always with a project in mind. She believes kitchens should make people want to stay — and hers does exactly that. Even a car crashing into the front of the house couldn't stop her. She simply headed to the barn and came back with something better. Outside, every corner of this property tells a story of something rescued and reimagined. Sherry finds old buildings, has them moved to her property, and gives them new life. Her pièce de résistance is the Olde Grainery — a grain bin she bought for one dollar and turned into something magical.
