If you’re lucky enough to write for Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Bassoons and further derivations of those instruments (I haven’t forgotten you, Cor Anglais) in the real world, true musical magic lies. This is true both in ‘linear’ form as melody and harmony and, as instruments like Slate+Ash’s Primaries Woodwind library demonstrates, as a collection of atmospheric and ethereal textures too. It’s with the latter context in mind that this week’s episode is born as I’ll show you how to mine some moments from Logic’s woodwinds loops to blend together to form something new.
