Where's the Beach, Bro?

Since summer is coming wrapping up soon, let's close out August with the original Where's the Beach, Bro? This one is funny to me, because there really isn't anything connecting the video to the beach; most of the riding was probably filmed before summer, there's no actual footage of the beach, and the song doesn't really do anything to create a beach day ambience. The title however, was one we would hear pretty often from distraught tourists while riding street in San Cruz, so it kind of became an inside joke. This was a year round thing, though definitely more popular in the warmer summer days. I still get stoked on this edit for a number of reasons though. First, a lot of these spots are gone now, so it's cool to see them get some love before they vanished. Second, the song slaps, even if it isn't a beach party jam. And third, it's a good mix, with everybody using their own unique style to bring something cool to the table. I love the Dusty clips, because his smooth transition style translates exceptionally well to the streets. Murph showing he can get jibby with it as well as jump off a roof. Anthony always had the ability to make things look good, whether it was pumping around a bowl, riding a 3 foot quarter, or doing a rudimentary trick on a stock flat ledge. For myself, I like seeing some rails that I should be grinding more, the rail hop to flat was something a bit out of my comfort zone, and the Scummy Bears shirt was a fashion era unto itself. Happy Labor Day weekend! 6/23/2011 "Kicking off summer with the first of hopefully many volumes of Where's the Beach, Bro? Let the weather heat up and the barney's clog up traffic. Featuring me, Murph, Dusty, and Twan. Enjoy!"
