This property first opened in 1989, with its earliest known brand being Summerfield Suites- which was once Wyndham's extended stay brand. Summerfield Suites was later bought by Hyatt, and this property was converted to the Hyatt House banner (along with the other Summerfields). While this hotel was likely nice at one time, it's a poorly managed mess today. Between the many housekeeping issues and instances of deferred maintenance, the lack of care and attention to detail is evident to anyone who walks in here. I sense that the owners simply don't care about running a quality property. The staff was really one of the only bright spots here. While there wasn't anything egregious enough here to make Jacob and I leave and find another hotel, I can totally understand someone feeling differently. A property like this shouldn't be allowed to use Hyatt's name- and, to Hyatt's credit, they may have felt the same way. As of April 24, 2024 (less than 2 weeks after filming this video), this property is no longer in the Hyatt system. As of the posting of this video, it is known as the CLT Sky Suite. It's possible they're currently seeking out another franchise- but, regardless of that, I don't have any hope for the future success of this property unless they can get their maintenance and housekeeping under control.
