This time, I traveled to five countries in Central and Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, and Hungary. My main purpose was to explore local vintage clothing stores and antique shops. My impression from actually walking around was that there were fewer vintage clothing stores compared to Western Europe, and finding vintage items wasn't easy. Historical backgrounds and national circumstances may also be a factor. However, Budapest, Hungary, was an exception, with several high-quality shops and antique stores. This time, I'll introduce the items I found and purchased in that limited environment. First, in Belgrade, Serbia, I visited the stadium of the prestigious Red Star Belgrade and purchased this season's third goalkeeper kit. The supplier is Macron, and the price was approximately 11,200 yen. The niche design and color scheme, rarely seen in Japan, were the deciding factors. In Budapest, Hungary, I found a French-made Adidas tracksuit, seemingly from the late 1970s or 1980s, in a shop in the city center. Despite being a rare, large size equivalent to a Japanese XXL, I found it for an astonishingly low price of approximately 3200 yen. Furthermore, at another shop, I found a pair of 1990s USA-made Levi's 501s (pre-dyed black) for about 4200 yen. Even locally, American-made Levi's are almost extinct, so I was lucky to find my size. Accessories seemed cheaper compared to Japan. I bought silver rings in Budapest and Belgrade for approximately 3700 yen and 4000 yen respectively. Also, at an antique shop in Zagreb, Croatia, I came across a 1962 Omega Seamaster 600. I negotiated the price, citing damage to the crystal, and acquired it for approximately 63,000 yen. Finally, I'm also mentioning the Adidas Spezial sneakers I found in Taiwan, my transit point. This model, with its mesh upper (which I don't believe is available in Japan), had a lovely pale color, and I bought it as a perfect ending to my trip. It cost approximately 14,000 yen. This area might not attract many visitors specifically looking for vintage clothing, but I enjoyed the thrill of finding unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
