A dead man on a train – a crime scene with a body in the train toilet – police operation, replacement train, flashing blue lights, murder on an Interregio train, homicide squad. My colleague arrives at Cologne Central Station with his train, and the blue lights are already flashing – a body in the toilet of the Interregio train. This train journey is temporarily halted in Cologne; a police operation is delaying the train's departure. The carriage containing the crime scene is impounded, and the train is stopped. Then the colleague calls; we have to step in with our Class 120 117 locomotive. Shortly afterward, we pull our locomotive onto the turntable and couple it to the train. The parked carriages are pushed forward to the main station as a shunting operation. The replacement train is ready, and the passengers have boarded. This time, everyone continues the journey alive, and after some suspense, we reach Koblenz station, where my colleague takes over.
