Hello Grizzly friends, Paddling through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bamberg with Friedrich. The route is approximately 10 km long and involves three portages. Beautiful on the Regnitz with many opportunities to stop for a break and enjoy the paddle. Is my equipment in good condition? (Life jacket, helmet in whitewater, drysuit, etc.) 2.) Do I correctly assess my current skills? Am I healthy and fit? 3.) Does my technique and fitness meet the requirements? 4.) Do I master safety and rescue techniques in the event of a capsize? 5.) Have I planned my trips carefully? (Weather, water level, trip length, hazards, etc.) 6.) Am I prepared for incidents, and can I abort the trip early if necessary? 7.) Am I experienced enough and do I want to take the risk of going solo? 8.) Do I have enough food with me? (Emergency bars, glucose tablets, drinks) 9.) Do I have a change of clothes and seasonal equipment with me? Additional information on safety and nature conservation: Non-swimmers have no business on the water. Wear a life jacket. Alcohol, in my opinion, has no place on the water. Campfires are taboo in unmarked areas. Wild camping near water is not permitted and is outdated and environmentally unfriendly anyway. Any trash should, of course, always be picked up. In general, it's important to remain calm and be sensitive to nature.
