Painting Tracy Was the Scariest Project I’ve Ever Accepted

Today is one of the most nerve-racking projects I’ve ever taken on. When Terry from Chateau Lalacelle asked if I could paint a portrait of his beloved mum, Tracy, my first reaction was excitement… quickly followed by panic. I’ve painted murals, interiors and all kinds of artistic projects throughout my life—but I’ve never painted a portrait. Portraits are different. One wrong brush stroke can completely change a face. Instead of saying no, I decided to find my own creative approach and document every step of the journey—from the first nervous brushstroke to the finished painting. This episode is about taking on something you’ve never done before, trusting your creativity, and discovering that sometimes the biggest risks become the most rewarding experiences. A huge thank you to everyone at Chateau Lalacelle for trusting me with such a special project. I hope you enjoy watching this journey as much as I enjoyed creating it. If you’re new here after visiting from Chateau Lalacelle—welcome to our historic villa on Lake Como, where we’re restoring an old Italian home one project at a time. ❤️ Subscribe and join us for new episodes every week. #LakeComo #PortraitPainting #Art #Artist #HistoricVilla #DIY #Painting #CreativeLife #ChateauLife
