Art Tutorials: Romero Britto Portraits - Grades 4-5

In this lesson, we will learn about Brazilian Artist Romero Britto. Romero Britto is a contemporary artist, a modern day Pop Artist with a cubist twist (think Picasso and Matisse). He uses vibrant, bold and colofull patterns to reflect his optimistic view of the world around him. We will learn about cubist shapes, lines, patterns, proportion and contrast using cool colors and warn colors. Materials used are: watersoluble oil pastels and watercolor pencils . If you do not have those, use oil pastels or crayon, and pencils. Artist quote: Art is too important not to share.
