CSX I129 Featuring the Baltimore & Ohio Heritage Unit 1827 on the Former C&EI

CSX I129, the daily Bedford Park, IL (southwest suburban Chicago) to Fairburn, GA (southwest suburban Atlanta) intermodal train is heading south at CPI 026 in Chicago Heights, IL on 2 July 2026. This is the joint UP/CSX former Chicago & Eastern Illinois trackage that extends between Dolton, IL in south suburban Chicago and Woodland Jct, IL in central Illinois where the two railroads split off to their own tracks. A pleasant surprise was catching CSX 1827, the Baltimore & Ohio heritage unit leading the train. I had no advance information that it was on this train. And as it would happen, is the first time I have seen it in person. I have to say, it looks great. Today’s train was no slouch either as it had 301 containers. Thanks for reading and watching.
