STEPS: TO MAKE EGG COSY 00:00 Intro 00:22 Cast on 26 stitches. 00:37 Knit across the first row. 00:42 Once you’ve finished row 1, turn your work. 00:47 Purl across row 2. 01:00 Repeat these rows 6 times, alternating between knit and purl rows as you turn your work so you end up with 12 rows of stockinette stitch. 01:12 Start decreasing to make the curve of the top of your egg cosy by following the next steps. 01:22 K2Tog, K2 across the row. 01:53 Turn your work and purl a row. 02:04 Turn work and start another decrease row: k2tog, k2 - repeat to end of row. 02:15 At the end of row you’ll have 3 stitches left so finish by k2tog, k1. 02:26 Cut your working yarn remembering to leave a nice long tail for sewing up. 02:38 Take your tapestry needle, and thread the tail through the needle. 02:53 Transfer the stitches onto this yarn and set aside your knitting needles. 03:10 Pull your tail up tight, which will cinch in the top of the egg cosy. 03:16 Turn inside out and sew edges together using the remaining tail of yarn. 03:26 Tighten up the top part of the cosy that’s been cinched in. 03:32 Use mattress stitch to join the two edges of fabric together. 04:12 Secure the bottom of the mattress stitch by stitching the sides together and sewing in the ends. TO MAKE BUNNY EARS 05:05 Cast on 6 stitches. 05:10 Work 6 rows of garter stitch. 05:20 Now to shape the top of the ear - k2tog, k2, ssk to create a decrease on both sides of the bunny ear. 05:48 Knit a row. Knit the 4 stitches in your row. 05:56 Turn work. 06:03 K2tog and ssk so now you will have 2 stitches on your row. 06:26 Turn the work and k2tog to make the point of the ear. You’ll now have one stitch left on your needle. 06:33 When you’re left with one stitch, pull the loop out to make it bigger, set knitting needles aside and snip the working yarn leaving a tail for sewing in. 06:44 Finishing off. Bring your tail of yarn through the loop at the top of the bunny ear and sew the down the side. Sew in the end. You can pull the yarn tighter to adjust the shape of the ear! Repeat these steps to make your second ear! SEWING EARS ONTO EGG COSIES 07:30 Stitch the ears of the rabbit onto the cosy head using the tail of yarn. 07:40 Thread your tail of yarn through your tapestry needle and fold the bottom of the ear in half to make a nice rabbity shape. Sew in place. 08:05 Hold your first bunny ear in place at the top of your egg cosy. Stitch through the bottom of the ear and the top of the egg cosy, sewing round the front and back until it’s nice and secure. 08:42 Repeat for the second ear. TIPS 04:04 Mattress stitch is also great for garments, because it creates a nice neat seam! 07:07 Change the shape of the ear. When you’ve completed your animal ear before you complete you can adjust how tightly you pull the tail of yarn to adjust the shape of the ear. Pulled tightly, the shape will become more cinched in and rounded - perfect for a bear, puppy or hamster ear. For a cute pointy fox or bunny ear remember not to pull in too tightly to keep the pointed tip. 09:26 When sewing on the face of your bunny, start with the nose! As this is the central point, it makes all the other features easier to place with a nose centre point. * * SUBSCRIBE AND JOIN OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY: https://bit.ly/2Kh05zN * * FOLLOW US: Website | https://www.lovecrafts.com Instagram | / lovecraftscom Facebook | / lovecraftscom Pinterest | https://www.pinterest.co.uk/lovecraft...
