Catedral de Córdoba: Historia, Arquitectura y Órgano de tubos

🎹🇦🇷 Córdoba Cathedral: History, Architecture, and Pipe Organ Church of Our Lady of the Assumption 🌍In this video, I invite you to discover the history of the organ in the Church of San Francisco in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. ___________________________________________________ 👉 What you will discover in this video: Historical legacy: A sonic journey that takes us back more than 100 years in time. Sound engineering: The fascinating workings of its pipes, stops, and keyboards using air. Heritage significance. Exceptional acoustics: A visual tour of the church's interior. Originally, the organ belonged to the Giovanni Tonoli firm. It was later modified and installed by Donato Sangaletti. Initially, it was located in the left side gallery of the Cathedral, although it currently occupies the right gallery. A plaque preserved on the instrument's original console reads: "The Reverend Father Dr. Francisco S. César commissioned the completion and conversion of the organ of this Cathedral of Córdoba to a liturgical organ by the renowned workshop of Giacomo Locatelli, of Bergamo, Italy, in the year 1903." This inscription suggests the existence of an older organ, a hypothesis supported by Giacomo Locatelli's catalog, which includes a "Renovation of the organ of the Cathedral of Córdoba." When the instrument was moved from its original location, its mechanical action was replaced with an electric one. Furthermore, a new console was installed that bears no aesthetic or structural relation to the original. After a subsequent modification by Sangaletti using Locatelli materials, the instrument was identified as Opus 167 in the latter firm's catalog. It was the only mechanically driven organ in all of Argentina and, moreover, the only Locatelli organ installed in a gallery, a very common arrangement in Italy. The organ seen in the right-hand box and the console are an electric Viscount Prestige with two keyboards and a pedalboard. I thank organist Cristian Barrios for all the information and photos he provided. ________________________________________ 📍 Location: Cathedral Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, Independencia and 27 de Abril, Córdoba, Argentina. ________________________________________ 📌 Chapters 0:00 Introduction 0:40 History 5:35 Cathedral Architecture 11:14 Laukhuff Pipe Organ 14:20 Pipe Organ Demonstration 16:34 Closing Remarks ________________________________________ ✨ If you enjoyed the video, don't forget to like 👍, comment 💬, and subscribe 🔔 to support the channel. #Cordoba #CordobaChurches #HistoricChurches #HistoricChurches #CordobaCathedral #OurLadyoftheAssumptionChurch #Assumption #CordobaCulture #CordobaHeritage #CordobaTourism #CordobaArgentina #MusicalHeritage #AntiqueInstruments #ChurchOrgan #Organist #Museums #Architecture #Concert #ClassicalMusic #HistoryOfMusic #PipeOrgans
