Folk Friday: Wish You Were In Alaska!

I am in Alaska with my family this week, and we found this mountaintop coffeeshop that had an old guitar, so I did a little impromptu concert. This song is on Spotify ("Wish You Were") but I always love playing it acoustic. Spot the glacier behind me that we had just climbed lol! Lyrics: Don't usually fall for the cool one Don't ever put up a fight Why even give it a good run When my intuition is right But I don't know what got to me this time Feels like I'm losing my mind Took a chance ion your laugh and your worn-out guitar And I'm not sure if I wasted my time I wish you were who I thought you were Your voice rang out in my head Didn't see things exactly as they were But I guess it works out in the end Maybe it's what you felt in the moment Maybe I read the signals too neat You sounded so sincere said the word I wanna hear And it's my fault for trusting the speech I wish you were who I thought you were Your voice rang out in my head Coulda shown me I meant more than just mere words But I guess it works out in the end Maybe I met a different you 'cause your friends all think that you're great Shoulda trusted my gut got caught up in the thrill of it And I hate how it makes me feel lame I wish you were who I thought you were Your voice rang out in my head Woulda given you my heart in seconds flat But I guess it works out in the end I wish you were who I thought you were I should probably be glad that it ended And I can't help but think I somehow didn't measure up But I guess it works out in the end I guess I dodged this one Good luck on the next love And it always works out in the end
