We woke to threatening skies in black soil country and knew we had a decision to make. With rain forecast and difficult roads ahead, we packed up early and made our escape from camp before conditions deteriorated. Along the way we encountered hundreds of kangaroos, explored historic Wentworth, visited the spectacular Perry Sand Hills, stood at the meeting point of the Murray and Darling Rivers, and even had a small camera gear scare!
