23 bombers deployed to England from the United States | B-52 and B-1 take off on missions

Watch two fully armed B-52s arrive in England as RAF Fairford now hosts 23 strategic bombers during Operation Epic Fury in the Middle East. This is in addition to four bombers (including B-1 Lancers) launching on the same day and multiple cargo aircraft arriving. Playlist of aircraft spotted during Operation Epic Fury:    • Operation Epic Fury   RAF Fairford is a bomber airfield operated by the US Air Force in Europe. It is owned by the UK government but leased to the US military for their operations. Permission was given for the base to be used by a forward deployment of bombers on Operation Epic Fury in the Middle East. At its height there are at least 23 bombers on the ground. The newly arriving B-52 Stratofortresses ('BUFF') shown in this video are from the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base (AFB) in Louisiana, while others are from the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB in North Dakota. The Rockwell B-1B Lancers ('BONE') featured are operated by the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, and the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess AFB in Texas. The B-52A Stratofortress first entered production in 1952, with the latest variant being the B-52H complete in 1962. The B-52 is being fitted with new Rolls Royce engines, and is set to still be in service as the B-52J by the 2050s. Production of the B-1A began in 1973 with the program being cancelled a short time later. The program was then restarted in the 1980s with the B-1B entering production in 1983, and operational capability in 1986.
