"How Did Mandula Balu, BJP Armoor Town President and Accused in the Attack on Mohammed Amer Khan, Secure Bail Within 24 Hours? Hyderabad, July 1, 2026: Mr. Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesman of Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), raised a series of serious questions regarding the attack on Mr. Mohammed Amer, Principal of Bharath Chandra High School, Armoor, and the subsequent handling of the case by the Nizamabad Police. Mr. Khan questioned how Mandula Balu, BJP President of Armoor Town, who was accused in the attack on Mohammed Amer, secured bail within a day of his arrest. "Why did Armoor Town Police not strongly oppose the bail application? Under whose instructions is Commissioner of Police Nizamabad, Sri P. Sai Chaitanya IPS, functioning?" Mr. Khan asked. He further questioned why only one person was arrested when videos and eyewitness accounts allegedly indicate that nearly 50 BJP/RSS workers participated in the attack on Bharath Chandra High School. "If dozens of individuals entered the school premises and took part in the attack, why has action been restricted to only one accused? Who is protecting the others?" Mr. Khan asked. Mr. Khan also questioned the silence of political parties claiming to represent minorities. "Despite having 14 Municipal Corporators in Nizamabad and one Municipal Councillor in Armoor, why did AIMIM not call for a Nizamabad Bandh against the attack on a school Principal? Why did AIMIM leaders remain absent when Mohammed Amer needed support?" he asked. Mr. Khan further questioned why associations representing Minority Educational Institutions and Private Minority Schools across Telangana failed to organize a protest or statewide bandh against the attack. "When a Principal of a Minority Educational Institution is assaulted, the entire educational community should have stood united. Their silence is disappointing," he said. Mr. Khan also raised questions regarding Crime No. 356/2026 and asked why Mohammed Amer himself was not made the complainant in the case against Mandula Balu and others. "Why was the complaint registered through Mr. Mallaiah, Correspondent of Bharath Chandra High School, instead of the victim himself? Tomorrow, if pressure is exerted by BJP leaders such as Sri Dharmapuri Arvind, Member of Parliament from Nizamabad, or Sri Padi Rakesh Reddy, BJP MLA, and the complainant is persuaded to withdraw the case or enter into a compromise through Lok Adalat proceedings, how will Mohammed Amer obtain justice?" Mr. Khan questioned. Referring to the Mohammed Abdul Bari–Rajmallu case, Mr. Khan accused certain BJP leaders of presenting only one side of the story and alleged that the Nizamabad Police failed to conduct a fair and impartial investigation. He questioned why no inquiry was conducted into the private finance activities allegedly carried on by Rajmallu, why huge quantities of petrol were allegedly stored at his premises, and why no counter-case was registered despite allegations made by Abdul Bari. Mr. Khan alleged that Commissioner of Police Sri P. Sai Chaitanya IPS failed to act impartially in the matter and that selective action had eroded public confidence in the police administration. Mr. Khan also strongly criticized the notice issued by Sri R. Bhaaskaran IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CI Cell, Intelligence Department, Telangana, to X (formerly Twitter), seeking removal of posts relating to the Armoor incident. He pointed out that the notice targeted 41 X handles, including his official account @amjedmbt and @infomubashir, Senior Reporter of Siasat Urdu Daily, for posting videos relating to the attack on Mohammed Amer by Mandula Balu and others. Mr. Khan said that targeting journalists, social activists, media organizations and public representatives for sharing videos of an incident that is already in the public domain amounts to suppression of free speech and freedom of the press guaranteed under Article 19 of the Constitution of India. "The role of the Intelligence Department should be to identify those disturbing communal harmony, not to silence those who are exposing acts of violence and demanding accountability," he said. Mr. Khan announced that he would be writing to Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Telangana, and Sri C. V. Anand IPS, Director General of Police, Telangana, seeking an inquiry into the actions of the Intelligence Department and the circumstances under which the notice was issued. He questioned why the Intelligence Department remained silent on numerous communal incidents and attacks against Muslims reported during the tenure of the present Government, while showing extraordinary urgency in seeking the removal of social media posts highlighting the Armoor incident. #
