Campervan Chaos in Scotland: Width Restrictions and Kitchen Injuries! North East 250 Scotland
Join us as we continue our Scotland NE250 campervan adventure along the stunning east coast of Scotland. From hundreds of wild seals to dramatic castle ruins and spectacular coastal scenery, this is one of our favourite days on the North East 250 route. Travelling in our IH campervan Teddy, we explore some of Scotland's most beautiful beaches, hidden coastal gems, and historic landmarks. Our day begins at Newburgh Beach, where we discover an incredible colony of seals basking on the shoreline. After navigating campervan parking challenges and width restrictions, we enjoy one of the best wildlife experiences of our Scottish road trip. We then continue along the Aberdeenshire coast to Cruden Bay, a charming seaside village with breathtaking cliff-top views and the fascinating ruins of Slains Castle. Often linked to Bram Stoker's Dracula, this atmospheric castle offers stunning coastal scenery, dramatic history, and some of the most impressive views on Scotland's east coast. Next, we visit the Bullers of Buchan, a remarkable collapsed sea cave and natural coastal landmark carved by the North Sea. With rugged cliffs, seabird colonies, and incredible landscapes, it is one of the highlights of the Aberdeenshire coastline. The Scottish weather keeps us guessing with sunshine, rain, hail, and dramatic skies before we settle in for the evening at Marina Bay Holiday Park in Peterhead. Along the way there is campervan life, coastal walks, wildlife spotting, scenic viewpoints, and even a minor kitchen disaster involving a very sharp knife.
