171 is excited to announce MOSAIC 2020! Featuring 240 small works by 20 talented regional artists in a juried exhibition! Initially slated for June as part of our Kaleidoscope 2020 fundraiser, the exhibit was postponed when we held our fundraiser virtually. The MOSAIC Exhibit opening will be in 171’s Houghton Gallery by appointment only on October 23, 2020 from 6 to 9 PM and October 24, 2020 from 12 to 8 PM. MOSAIC will run through November 13, 2020. Marc Rubin Theme: Random Thoughts IV I have always found a blank sheet of paper an irresistible call to make a mark; whether on a sketch pad or a napkin, for as long as I can remember, I have had an addiction to making marks; I am a ‘chain doodler’. Versus trying to cure this insatiable desire, craving, addiction; in between painting and working as a brand designer, I doodle… mornings, evenings and all weekend. I never know what I am going to doodle, I sit down, touch the stylus to my “paper” and off I go; at times inspired by friends, current events or a face in a passing situation… many times though, it just appears before me and I chase after it.
