The Stanford Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Commission: The Making of Two Mosaic Floors with Gary Drostle Speaker: Gary Drostle, Award-winning and internationally-recognized mosaic artist specializing in Mosaic and Mural Art for Architecture and Landscape, London, England Gary will take us through every stage of his two-part commission for the Stanford Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, CA including design, fabrication and installation. Each commission: A Walk Along the California Sea Shore and A Trail Through The Redwood Forest, included the design of a bespoke terrazzo floor which linked into a series of porcelain mosaic floor panels. The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto won the Hamilton Prize for Art in Healthcare in 2019.
