Tarw Du, The Trail That Transformed Mountain Biking Forever
Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping adventure as I tackle the thrilling Tarw Du trail at Coed-y-Brenin in Wales! This exhilarating 21km loop is tagged as a "black" trail, but I'd say it's more of a beginner's black—definitely more like a Blue trail in the grand scheme of things! The climbs are a breeze at an average grade of 3%, and while the slabs can be dodged if you're not feeling daring, the rugged, rocky terrain adds a wild twist. I can only imagine how bone-rattling it would be on a hardtail! I had an absolute blast and can't wait to ride this trail again. I clocked in at exactly 2 hours, even with some filming and scouting the slabs along the way!
