[Tokaido Goshukuba Stamp Project] https://shizuoka-shinkin-kyoukai.or.j... https://shizup.jp/ This initiative utilizes the local tourism resource of "post towns" to create "Goshukuba Stamps" (pronounced "goshukubain") for each post town, encouraging visitors to travel to each town to purchase them. Specifically, the Shizuoka Prefectural Credit Union Association (*) and others will cooperate with the "Tokaido Post Town Stamp Pilgrimage," in which tourist associations and other organizations sell post town stamps as proof of visiting the Tokaido. The post town stamps are being created in response to the growing popularity of collecting "Goshuin" (temple/shrine stamps) and "Gojoin" (castle stamps) from castle visits. The Shizuoka Prefectural Credit Union Association and other organizations will support this initiative by bearing the initial costs of creating the post town stamps and donating them to tourist associations and other organizations. This "Tokaido Post Town Stamp Project" has already begun sales of post town stamps for 11 post towns from "Nihonbashi" to "Mishima-juku" since October 7, 2022, in cooperation with credit unions (Hiratsuka Credit Union and 8 other credit unions) that have their head offices or branches near these post towns. As an extension of this, the area will be expanded to include Shizuoka, Aichi, Mie, Shiga, and Kyoto prefectures.
