BREAKOUT FROM NORMANDY: THE LAST WAR HEROES Episode 3 (2026 Edition) RELOADED
Live fire recreations and emotive veteran testimony to take you to the heart of the battles to liberate Western Europe from the Nazis. In this episode, after Operation Cobra finally cracks German defensive lines in Western Normandy, General Patton's 3rd Army turns the German flank. The Liberation of France is now in sight. German commanders want to retreat, but Hitler orders a massive counter-attack to cut the Allies in two. The German forces, once they are stopped, are in danger of being surrounded. The two pincers of the trap, the British and Canadians in the North and the Americans in the South, close in on the neck of the Falaise Pocket, as desperate German troops abandon their equipment and escape on foot. The Allied air force sends in Typhoons to strafe the German troops and thousands are killed and captured – the German army in the West is destroyed. Although they were weeks behind schedule on their objectives for D-day, the Allies suddenly find themselves reaching Paris and the Seine months ahead of schedule. For a brief moment, it looks like the war could be over by Christmas. Don't forget to hit that subscribe button and be part of the journey—history awaits! 🔔✨ / @thehistorytripofficial
