When Promises are Broken (Psalm 146)
Promises get broken by parents, spouses, friends, children, governments, and institutions. The disappointment of broken promises can shake our faith, breed bitterness, and leave us feeling abandoned. Psalm 146 reminds us that while human beings are unreliable, God is not. He “keeps faith forever.” Every promise he has ever made, he will keep. As we celebrate the spiritual milestones of our kindergarteners today, we are reminded that the most important foundation we can give the next generation is trust in the God who never breaks his promises.
