DIE VYFTIGERS is a unique musical supergroup group formed when four friends, Gian Groen, Schalk Joubert, Abel Kraamsaal, and Neil Sandilands, all turned 50 in the same year Afrikaans turned 100. The idea was sparked at Gian Groen’s birthday and quickly became a creative collaboration celebrating music, age, and language. DIE VYFTIGERS is ’n unieke musiek-supergroep wat gevorm is toe vier vriende – Gian Groen, Schalk Joubert, Abel Kraamsaal en Neil Sandilands – almal hul 50ste verjaarsdag in dieselfde jaar gevier het waarin Afrikaans 100 jaar oud geword het. Die idee het by Gian Groen se verjaarsdag ontstaan en het vinnig ontwikkel tot ’n kreatiewe samewerking wat musiek, ouderdom en taal vier.
