Twitter @juangangel When we talk about forage in Colombia, in cold-climate areas, we find different materials such as Kikuyu. This material has outstanding production and nutritional quality characteristics. However, improved materials such as Ryegrass are currently available, which provide better nutritional characteristics and help increase production on our farms. Since forage is the most economical source available for feeding ruminants dedicated to milk and meat production, forage management practices must be considered, a series of methods applied for: sowing, planting, maintaining, fertilizing, grazing, weed, pest, and disease control, and improving pastures with legume and grass associations with a wide variety of new genetic materials.
