Fluid Mechanics Lesson 02E: Barometers
Fluid Mechanics Lesson Series - Lesson 02E: Barometers In this 7.5-minute video, Professor Cimbala applies the equation of hydrostatics to analyze an instrument called a barometer, which measures local atmospheric pressure. He develops a relationship between the variables associated with a liquid barometer and then does an example problem for a mercury barometer. This video incorporates material from Section 3-2 of the Fluid Mechanics textbook by Cengel and Cimbala.
