Route 95's NEW TEMPORARY UPGRADE? Gemini 3 Hybrid DDs Replacing Enviro200s (London Buses)
London bus route 95 has recently changed. Existing hybrid double deckers have entered service on the route. These have replaced ADL Enviro200 single decker diesel buses, shown later in the video. The 95 now uses three different types of Gemini 3s, including... 0:00 Route details 4:44 Route history 5:13 Enviro200s 8:15 Journeys LK15 plate Gemini 3s, which were new to route 6 in 2015, LK65 plate Gemini 3s, which were new to route 295 in 2015, And LK67 plate Gemini 3s, which were used at Willesden (AC) garage until recently. These were replaced by new Wright StreetDeck Electroliners on the 98. MCV EvoSetis from route 31 have also transferred for route 95. However, these are being used on other routes at Greenford garage. New electric single deckers are to be ordered for the 95. These will replace the hybrid double deckers in the future. Route 95 runs from Southall Town Hall to White City, via... Greenford Broadway, South Greenford Station, Perivale, Hanger Lane Station, Park Royal Station, Gypsy Corner and East Acton. The 95 runs every 12 to 20 minutes. The route runs from 04:55 until 00:55. Route 95 started running in February 1992. The route was introduced to replace the 105 between Greenford and Shepherd's Bush. And ran from their Alperton (ON) garage using Mercedes-Benz 811Ds. The first major change to the 95 happened in March 1995, When a Sunday service was introduced to replace the 105's Sunday service. In April 1996, the 95 passed from CentreWest to MTL London. The route now ran from North Acton (NA) garage. And used Marshall C37s. MTL London was sold to Metroline in August 1998. In September 2000, North Acton garage was closed. The 95's allocation transferred to Harlesden (HR) garage. In April 2001, the 95 was retained by Metroline. At the same time, the route was converted to low floor operation. New Plaxton Pointer 2s replaced the C37s. The 95's allocation then transferred from Harlesden (HR) to Perivale East (PV) in August 2002. First London began running the 95 in April 2006. It returned to Alperton (ON) garage and was converted to double deck operation, When new Wright Eclipse Geminis were introduced. The double deck allocation only lasted a year. As Marshall Capital single deckers were introduced in July 2007. The 95 also transferred to Greenford (G) garage at this time. In April 2007, First retained the 95. At the same time, new ADL Enviro200s were introduced. The 95 transferred back to Metroline in June 2013, When First's Greenford (G) garage was sold. Metroline then retained the route in April 2018.
