🇧🇪¿FLANDES? Fue una GUERRA Civil y NO contra ESPAÑA | ENTREVISTA a un Historiador BELGA en AMBERES
👀 Luc Duerloo destroys the myths against the Empire in Flanders. The Belgian historian asserts that education is designed to make people HATE the SPANISH. Although he establishes differences between the Netherlands and Belgium. 🗣️ "If Philip II had traveled more to Flanders, this war would have been avoided." 💭 Luc Duerloo will give three reasons why he thinks the religious war came to pass. 👏🏻 Luc Duerloo studied history at the Catholic University of Leuven. There, he earned his doctorate in 1986 with a thesis on the Heraldic Chamber during the Austrian era. His supervisor was Jan Buntinx. The work was awarded and published by the Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Fine Arts of Belgium. For a time, he combined teaching at the EHSAL and Vesalius College. Since 2003, he has been at the University of Antwerp, where he teaches early modern political history. From 2018 to 2021, he was Dean of the Faculty of Arts there. Duarloo's research focuses on the politics, institutions, and political culture of the Habsburg Netherlands, and he has a keen interest in the relationship between power and art. He has published on Archdukes Albert and Isabella, the Court of Brussels, Austrian rule, Habsburg piety, princely hunting, and the Belgian nobility, among other topics. (🇧🇪FLANDERS?
