When persecution scattered the church from Jerusalem out into Judea and Samaria, it wasn't the apostles who spread the gospel to new regions; instead, it was ordinary believers who "preached the word wherever they went." This single verse reveals the explosive growth pattern of the early church through everyday Christians bearing witness in the ordinary places of their scattered lives. The same pattern holds today. You are already scattered into your workplace, your neighborhood, your social circles, and these are your mission field. You don't need to wait for a mission trip or a special calling; the Spirit has already sent you into everyday places to be witnesses for Jesus. Today's sermon is "Scattered and Sent" and comes from Acts 8:1-8.
