At the foot of Ododae Pass, 750 meters above sea level, where Jirisan Mountain is said to be visible at a glance. In that place where clouds and wind linger, there is a man who has cultivated his own paradise. Mr. Kwak Joong-sik (55), who used to run a car repair shop, moved to Jirisan 10 years ago because he wanted to live freely, following his heart's desire, just once in his life. He says that while digging the ground himself to build a cave house and tending an apple orchard, he found solace for his weary heart by gazing at the breathtaking scenery of the Jirisan peaks lined up one after another, and that's when he started to feel the urge to do something different. Two years ago, he built a greenhouse on top of the cave house and created a moss garden using wood carvings, a hobby he had in his youth. With its strong reproductive capacity and beauty of remaining green all year round, he reportedly created a greenhouse garden using various types of moss.
